About Lanzhou City University
Lanzhou City University is a regular institution of higher learning offering full-time undergraduate programs, which was founded with approval of the Ministry of Education in China in 2006. Its predecessor is Lanzhou Teacher’s College founded in 1958 and Bailie Oil School founded in 1940s by Rewi Alley, the New Zealand international friend. The university has enjoyed a long history of education. The university has a teaching and administrative staff of around 1156. Among them, 94 are professors and 301 associate professors, 88 are doctor’s degree holders and 413 master’s degree holders. It has seventeen colleges and runs 22 institutes such as the Institute of Gansu Urban Development, etc. It offers 37 various specialities at undergraduate level covering nine disciplines—humanity, science, social science, management and engineering, etc., with a total enrollment of 15,102 full-time students.
